Nobby Solano, Peruvian international and former Newcastle United midfield genius has very kindly written me a letter of support. Thank you Nobby!
Image: Muchas gracias Nobby!
Image: Generally Peruvian police men were very friendly and helpful. Officer Jaimes (on the right) who I met near Huanuco is worthy of a special mention however as he said that when he was at university he played football with Nolberto Solano.
Well some things change. Returned from my trip to find that Nobby now plays for the Hammers. This makes me feel a bit sad. Still he is a great player and I'm really glad he replied to my request and wrote me a great letter of support. I am still waiting for Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives fame to respond to my letter below...

Dear Ms Anderson
Request for letter of support from Ms Eva Longoria
I understand from Ms Longorias website that public relations enquiries for Ms Longoria should be sent to you at this address.
Accordingly, I should be very grateful if you would pass this letter to Ms Longoria for her attention.
In January 2006 I am going to set off on a charity bike ride to raise money for the charity Médecins Sans Frontières (known as Doctors Without Borders in the United States). My plan is to ride from the south of Argentina to the north of Alaska. I estimate the distance is 18,000 km and that it will take 18 months to complete. I plan to arrive in Prudhoe Bay Alaska on 18 June at 2.45 pm (local time).
Please see my website for more details of my planned trip and the important work that Médecins Sans Frontières is doing at the moment in Latin America (www.pushonnorth.com).
I have been a very big admirer of Ms Longorias work in the hit first series of Desperate Housewives. In particular I thought that the paradoxical nature of the relationship between Gabrielle and Carlos was developed very effectively though the series by Ms Longoria and Mr Chavira.
I am also pleased to report that Ms Longorias new LOreal shampoo commercials are being extremely well received in England. My grandfather has even started using the product despite the fact that he has been completely bald for many years.
One of the few regrets I have about quitting my job and starting my bike trip is that I wont be able to regularly follow the second series of Desperate Housewives. To compensate me for my hardship do you think that Ms Longoria would be prepared to write a letter of support for my trip that I could place on my website?
I appreciate that Ms Longoria must be inundated with many such requests on a daily basis. However such a letter would mean a great deal to me. In addition to encouraging people to make donations to Médecins Sans Frontières it would also provide me with valuable inspiration and motivation on the many long miles between Argentina and Alsaka.
Please give me a call if you would like to discuss.
Yours sincerely

Terra Oculta was one of the best hostels I stayed at in my trip. I was there at the start of the 2006 World Cup which was brilliant. Turned out for Terra Oculta FC (above), managed by El Gordo, and played 10 minutes of a match against a local bus company team.
